This two-part trompe l’oeil composition from Lucinda’s “In a Box” series captures the majestic power of a tiger as it appears to stride through a framed wooden box—entering in one panel and exiting in the other. Lush tropical foliage enhances the illusion of movement, as though the animal is slipping between worlds. While this prototype (hence lower price). as it is painted on plywood, but it is still for sale even though it serves as the foundation for a larger life-size piece, making this set both a finished artwork and a rare glimpse into the artist’s evolving creative process.
